Instructions for attaching MEZUZAH to different doorposts
How do you attach the MEZUZAH case to the doorpost to ensure that it remains firmly in position over time?
Doorposts with a rough finish, such as plaster:
Smooth the surface with sandpaper, wipe with a damp cloth to remove dust, and repeat with a dry cloth. The smoother the surface, and the cleaner it is of dust or holes, the more perfectly MEZUZAH will adhere to it.
Remove the protective cover from the adhesive strip. Do not touch the adhesive. Holding the sides of MEZUZAH, attach it to the doorpost in the desired position. Apply light pressure for about thirty seconds until it is firmly fixed.
Coarse natural wood doorposts:
It is advisable to smooth the surface with sandpaper, and then wipe it clean with a damp cloth or paper towel.
Remove the protective cover from the adhesive strip. Do not touch the adhesive. Holding the sides of MEZUZAH, attach it to the doorpost in the desired position. Apply light pressure for about thirty seconds until it is firmly fixed.
Smooth doorposts, such as wood with a lacquer finish / painted metal / stainless steel/glass/formica:
Clean grease and dust from the surface using a damp cloth, and wipe it dry. MEZUZAH can only be attached once the surface is dry.
Remove the protective cover from the adhesive strip. Do not touch the adhesive. Holding the sides of MEZUZAH, attach it to the doorpost in the desired position. Apply light pressure for about thirty seconds until it is firmly fixed.
General:
-
Brass is a soft material; we, therefore, recommend using a screwdriver wrapped in a wide rubber band to gently remove the brass screw.
-
Place the klaf (parchment) inside the MEZUZAH case prior to attaching it to the doorpost.
-
When inserting the klaf into the MEZUZAH case, ensure that the word Shaddai is facing upward in relation to MEZUZAH’s position on the doorpost.
